Let's look at the Greek words originally written and translated to read as "For" "ever" -#1223 dia ► through, on account of, because of, for the sake of#3946 pas ► all, every, the whole, every kind of, ("each, every") means "all" in the sense of "each (every) part that applies." The emphasis of the total picture then is on "one piece at a time." 365 (ananeóō) then focuses on the part(s) making up the whole – viewing the whole in terms of the individual parts. "For ever" would not be my first impression, yet it seems to be universally translated that way. Could just as easily read, "..their backs beneath a burden on account of, or for the sake of, the whole/all." 1 Corinthians 15:22-27,28 - "For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. But each in their own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at His coming those who belong to Him, then the end when He will hand the kingdom over to the Father, when He has annulled all dominion, authority and power, for He must reign until He puts all enemies under His feet, the last to be abolished being death..
